
VIRGINIA — The Richmond Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found shot early Friday morning in Richmond.
According to police, officers responded to the 1600 block of North 21st Street at approximately 3:25 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, after a gunfire alert was triggered by the city’s gunshot detection system.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying in an alleyway with an apparent gunshot wound. Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and no arrests have been announced at this time.
