TENNESSEE — A 15-year-old boy is dead following a shooting Saturday night at the Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds, according to the Clarksville Police Department.
Off-duty officers working security at the fair reported hearing gunshots around 9:10 p.m. near the venue’s entrance.
Responding officers found the teenage victim in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Tennova Healthcare, where he later died from his injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing five or six males running from the area toward Hazelwood Road after the shooting. Police believe the incident was isolated.
Authorities are asking anyone in the area with surveillance footage to check for any suspicious activity. If anything is found, residents are urged to contact police by calling 911 immediately.
The investigation is ongoing.
