SOUTH CAROLINA — A man was shot and killed after forcing his way into an apartment Sunday night, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies said the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. along Bayfield Road. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.
Investigators said the shooter told deputies that the man had kicked in the apartment door, prompting him to grab a gun and fire.
Both the shooter and a witness remained at the scene and spoke with investigators. The investigation is ongoing.
