SOUTH CAROLINA — A 9-year-old child was killed in a shooting Sunday morning in Pageland, the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of a convenience store along Highway 9.
Several individuals have been detained and are being interviewed by deputies, along with witnesses, as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities said there is no danger to the community.
The investigation involves multiple agencies, including the Pageland Police Department, McBee Police Department, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Crime Scene and Child Fatality units.
