PENNSYLVANIA — A 16-year-old boy is dead after being shot multiple times early Sunday morning in Pittsburgh’s Middle Hill neighborhood.
Police responded around 1 a.m. to Addison Street, between Reed Street and Rose Street, after a ShotSpotter alert detected 11 gunshots in the area.
When officers arrived, they found the teen on the ground with gunshot wounds to the head, chest, and right arm.
Officers began chest compressions and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Kevin McKinzie, of the East Hills area.
The scene was processed for evidence, and officers are reviewing surveillance footage as the investigation continues.
