
OHIO — A 59-year-old man was killed early Tuesday in a shooting on the East Side of Cleveland, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 12:30 a.m. in the 11700 block of Cromwell Avenue. While speaking with individuals in the area, dispatchers informed officers that a man had been shot inside a nearby vehicle.
Police located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound near Parkview Avenue. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators said the suspect may have barricaded himself inside a residence on Cromwell Avenue. The Cleveland Division of Police SWAT team responded and cleared the home but did not locate the suspect.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity.
The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit is investigating.
