OHIO — A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition following a shooting on a Cleveland-area highway early Saturday morning, according to emergency officials.
Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of a shooting on Interstate 71 northbound at the Interstate 490 split. Upon arrival, EMS crews found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officials said a woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. A man was transported to MetroHealth, where he was listed in critical condition.
EMS also reported that another woman in her 30s was involved in the incident but refused medical transport from the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been released, and it is unclear what led up to the incident. Authorities continue to investigate. No additional information, including potential suspects or arrests, was immediately available.
