OHIO — One person is dead following a shooting in a Dayton neighborhood late Monday night, according to police.
Dayton officers responded around 8:40 p.m. to reports of multiple gunshots in the area of East 2nd Street and North Philadelphia Street. When officers arrived, they found one person dead between two houses.
Several 911 callers reported hearing anywhere from a dozen to as many as 20 or 30 gunshots in the area.
Homicide detectives are investigating to determine what led to the shooting.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
