OHIO — A 25-year-old man was killed in a shooting Friday night in the Evanston neighborhood, just blocks from Xavier University, according to Cincinnati police.
Officers responded to the area of Montgomery Road and Brewster Avenue around 8 p.m. and blocked off part of Montgomery Road while the Homicide Unit investigated.
Police said a gunshot victim arrived at University Hospital shortly after the incident, where he later died from his injuries. The victim has been identified as Jawan Tyree Bates, 25.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call Cincinnati police.
