OHIO — One person is dead and multiple others were injured following a mass shooting in Springfield late Saturday night.
Springfield police and medics responded to the 1000 block of West Rose Street at 10:46 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting, according to a press release from the City of Springfield.
Upon arrival, officers discovered several individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One person, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least two victims with serious injuries were flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.
Others were transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center and Kettering Health Springfield, either by ambulance or personal vehicles.
The conditions of the victims have not been disclosed.
Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including the Springfield Police Division, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Wittenberg University Police, and the Springfield Fire and Rescue Division.
