NORTH CAROLINA — One person is dead following a shooting early Saturday morning in west Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene just before 3 a.m. on Freedom Drive near Camp Greene Street.
When they arrived, they found a victim in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
