NORTH CAROLINA — A woman was killed and a man critically injured in a shooting Thursday night, authorities said.
The Fayetteville Police Department responded just before 11 p.m. to a ShotSpotter notification in the Caledonia Circle area off Murchison Road. When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman died at the scene, and the man was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
The victims’ names have not been released pending notification of next of kin. Police did not provide details regarding any potential suspects or the circumstances leading to the shooting.
Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the incident. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
