One person dead following shooting incident in Michigan

MICHIGAN — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Buena Vista Township.

Officers from the Buena Vista Police Department responded to a report of gunfire around 4:14 a.m. on April 26 in the 2900 block of Arlington Road.

When they arrived, they found 31-year-old Deon Haynes suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Haynes was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

According to police, the preliminary investigation suggests Haynes was the intended target of what appears to have been an isolated incident.

The Buena Vista Police Department, with assistance from the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, is actively investigating the case. No suspect information has been released at this time.
