INDIANA — A man was shot and killed early Friday morning on the near east side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).
Officers were called to the 3100 block of Brookside Parkway North Drive around 2:15 a.m. on a report of a person shot.
When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin an investigation.
Several individuals were detained at the scene but were later released pending further investigation.
Police also said a dog was found at the scene with injuries consistent with trauma.
