
INDIANA — A man is dead after a shooting Saturday afternoon on the city’s east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded just before 3:30 p.m. to the 1400 block of North Webster Avenue, near East 16th Street and North Arlington Avenue, on a report of a person shot.
When police arrived, they found a male victim suffering from injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. He was initially reported to be in critical condition but was later pronounced dead. His age has not been released.
No suspects have been identified. Police said there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
Investigators say some community members have already provided information and video footage to assist with the case. Detectives continue to ask anyone in the area with additional information or surveillance video to come forward.
The shooting remains under investigation.
