
INDIANA — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are investigating a deadly shooting on the city’s near east side early Tuesday morning.
Officers from the IMPD Southeast District were called to the 1000 block of South Gale Street just before 4 a.m. for a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency is assisting with collecting and analyzing evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the victim’s cause and manner of death and will release the man’s identity once his family has been notified.
