
INDIANA — A man is dead after a shooting early Sunday morning on the city’s near north side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded just after 4 a.m. to reports of a person shot in the 3600 block of North Illinois Street, near North Meridian and 38th streets. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the exact cause and manner of death.
