GEORGIA — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the Unionville neighborhood.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting just before 6 a.m. in the 800 block of Key Street near Anthony Road.
When they arrived, they found a 62-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
The man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. No other injuries were reported.
The victim’s name has not yet been released. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
