GEORGIA — One man is dead following a workplace shooting Tuesday at a Columbus manufacturing facility, officials confirmed.
According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, 54-year-old Lawrence Mitchell Perry was shot during an altercation at Aludyne Foundry, located at 1600 Northside Industrial Boulevard. Perry was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he later died.
Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two male employees at the facility.
Police are urging the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues. The identity of the other employee involved has not been released.
