GEORGIA — A man in his late 20s is dead following an overnight shooting in southeast Atlanta, and police are working to identify the shooter.
Investigators said the victim was brought to Fire Station No. 2 on Jonesboro Road in a private vehicle just before 3 a.m. Firefighters attempted life-saving measures, but the man died from his injuries at the station.
The victim arrived in a black Tesla, and detectives are reviewing license plate reader data and surveillance camera footage to determine where the vehicle came from and where the shooting occurred.
Homicide detectives are interviewing the driver of the Tesla, as well as family members, friends and witnesses who rushed to the scene. Police said many were visibly upset.
As of Saturday morning, no suspects are in custody. Jonesboro Road remains closed in both directions near Dorothy Street while the investigation continues.
