GEORGIA — Columbus police are investigating a homicide after a 30-year-old person was shot and killed early Saturday morning.
According to the Columbus Police Department, officers responded to the 1400 block of Boxwood Boulevard at the Azalea Ridge Apartments, where they found the victim, identified as Demetrious Wilkerson. Officials said Wilkerson had been shot multiple times while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle in a drive-by shooting.
Wilkerson was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made.
The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police.
