GEORGIA — Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed overnight in Columbus.
The incident happened in the 1600 block of 17th Avenue, near Lakebottom Park, according to the Columbus Police Department.
The Muscogee County coroner said the shooting has been ruled accidental based on specific details uncovered during the investigation.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Erica Anderson, a professor at Columbus State University.
Authorities have not released additional information as the investigation continues.
