FLORIDA — One man is dead following an early morning shooting Saturday in Fort Pierce, according to police.
Officers with the Fort Pierce Police Department said they responded around 4:15 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 1600 block of North 12th Street, west of U.S. Route 1.
When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
