ALABAMA — A man was killed and another person injured in a shooting Friday morning at an apartment complex in Henry County, authorities said.
Henry County Coroner Derek Wright identified the victim as 25-year-old Brandon Deshawn Welch. Sheriff Eric Blankenship said the shooting happened around 11:30 a.m. at the Greentree Apartments.
One suspect is in custody, though investigators have not confirmed whether more individuals were involved. Details remain limited as the investigation continues.
The Headland Police Department and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office are leading the investigation.
As a precaution, all Headland schools were placed on lockdown following the incident.
