OHIO — A pilot died Tuesday evening when a small plane crashed into a field in Tuscarawas County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the crash occurred around 5 p.m. in Mill Township.
The aircraft, a Cessna 310Q, had taken off from Harry Clever Field Airport in New Philadelphia at approximately 4:40 p.m.
Emergency crews arrived to find the plane engulfed in flames. Multiple fire departments responded to the scene.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have been notified and are investigating the cause of the crash.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the pilot.
