FLORIDA — One person was killed Wednesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened shortly before 2 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Main Street.
According to investigators, a 2021 Kia Seltos was traveling east on Main Street approaching the intersection with U.S. 1. At the same time, a 2005 Dodge Ram was traveling south on U.S. 1 in the inside lane, while a 2019 Honda Civic was in the northbound left-turn lane attempting to make a U-turn.
Authorities said the driver of the Kia attempted to turn left onto U.S. 1 and crossed into the path of the Dodge Ram. The truck struck the left side of the Kia, and the impact pushed the Ram into the Honda Civic.
The driver of the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram and the driver and passengers in the Honda Civic suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
