One person dead following motorcycle crash on I-40 in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A 20-year-old man died Saturday following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 40 East in Greensboro, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 4:57 p.m. at the ramp from I-40 East to U.S. 29 South. Greensboro Police, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS responded to the scene after reports of a crash involving serious injuries.

Investigators said the motorcyclist, identified as Kelvin Level Broadhurst Jr., 20, of Woodland, South Carolina, was operating a Ducati motorcycle when he ran off the roadway to the left and struck a guardrail while taking the ramp.

Police said Broadhurst was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene from his injuries.

The Greensboro Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
