One person dead following motorcycle crash in Virginia

VIRGINIA — A Maryland man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Bedford County, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred on May 31 as 69-year-old Robert Ira Horenberg of Potomac, Md., was riding a Harley Davidson eastbound on Route 43.

Police say the motorcycle ran off the side of the road and struck a stump, ejecting Horenberg from the bike.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that Horenberg was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
