TENNESSEE — A 44-year-old man was killed Saturday night after his motorcycle collided with an SUV in the Madison area, according to Metro Police.
Joshua Parsons of Nashville had just left a restaurant near Gallatin Pike and Twin Hills Drive around 10:15 p.m. when the crash occurred.
Authorities said Parsons was riding a Kawasaki Ninja north on Gallatin Pike when he struck a Honda Pilot that was exiting the Target parking lot and attempting to turn left onto the roadway.
Parsons was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police that Parsons had been drinking at the restaurant, and friends had tried to take his keys before he left.
Police said the driver of the Honda did not appear impaired, but the investigation is ongoing to determine whether the driver failed to yield the right of way.
Investigators are also examining whether speed on the part of the motorcyclist contributed to the crash.
