TENNESSEE — An off-duty Hamilton County deputy died following a motorcycle crash in Chattanooga on March 4, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.
Police said 26-year-old Caleb LeBruno was involved in the crash in the 3400 block of Brainerd Road. Preliminary findings from investigators indicate the motorcyclist lost control while navigating a curve and struck a parked car.
Hamilton County EMS transported LeBruno to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
In a statement, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office asked the community to keep the deputy’s loved ones in their thoughts.
“Please join us in keeping Deputy LeBruno’s family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” the department said.
Authorities said LeBruno began his career in public service as a dispatcher for the Sequatchie County 911 Center. In 2020, he joined the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy before transferring to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in 2022.
At the time of his death, LeBruno was serving in the sheriff’s office’s Uniform Services division. The crash remains under investigation.
