SOUTH CAROLINA — A motorcyclist was killed late Sunday in a two-vehicle crash involving an SUV, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred when a 2015 Cadillac SUV was turning left from North Church Street onto Dakota Street. At the same time, a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling south on North Church Street and struck the front of the SUV.
After the impact, the motorcycle left the roadway, struck a guy wire, and caught fire, authorities said. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Cadillac SUV was not injured in the crash. No additional information, including the identity of the motorcyclist, was immediately released as the investigation continued.
