PENNSYLVANIA — A 21‑year‑old motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night when his motorcycle and a car collided at East Third Street and Old Montoursville Road, the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office confirmed.
Emergency responders said the rider, who lived in the Warrensville Road area, had just exited Interstate 180 East at the Warrensville Road interchange when the crash occurred at about 9:15 p.m. The impact threw him a short distance from the bike.
A state trooper and two passers‑by immediately began life‑saving efforts, including chest compressions, until an ambulance arrived.
The victim was transported to UPMC Williamsport, where he was pronounced dead at 9:50 p.m. of blunt‑force trauma, a deputy coroner said. His name is being withheld pending family notification.
The I‑180 East off‑ramp and a section of East Third Street were closed for roughly three hours while investigators documented the scene.
Pennsylvania State Police returned Thursday morning to continue their investigation; additional details are expected to be released when the inquiry is complete.
