PENNSYLVANIA — A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a trash truck shut down a portion of Route 322 in Dauphin County early Wednesday morning, according to PennDOT.
The collision occurred just before 5 a.m. at the intersection of Witmer Drive and Paxton Street/Route 322 in Swatara Township. PennDOT confirmed that the motorcyclist was killed in the crash. Their identity has not yet been released.
The driver of the trash truck was taken to Hershey Medical Center for treatment, officials said.
As a result of the crash, all westbound lanes of Paxton Street/Route 322 were closed between Chambers Hill and Mushroom Hill roads.
All lanes have since reopened.
