OHIO — A 24-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash in northwest Columbus on Sunday evening, according to police.
Officers with the Columbus Division of Police responded to a motorcycle crash on Scioto Darby Creek Road near Woodson Drive around 5:20 p.m.
Authorities say Katelan Phares was traveling east on a BMW S1000RR motorcycle when she failed to navigate a curve, lost control, and slid into a guardrail.
The impact ejected her from the motorcycle, which landed on top of her.
Phares was transported to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead at 6:08 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
