One person dead following motorcycle crash in Ohio

OHIO — A Portsmouth man died Wednesday following a motorcycle crash on state Route 73, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers identified the victim as Joshua Lee Maxie, 48, of Portsmouth.

Authorities say the crash occurred just before 2:45 p.m. near milepost 14.

Investigators reported that Maxie was traveling west when his motorcycle veered off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail.

He was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, where he later died.

The crash remains under investigation.
