
OHIO — A Mineral City man died Wednesday evening after his motorcycle struck a fallen tree in Union Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said 47-year-old Michael McHale was traveling north on County Road 66 just after 7 p.m. when his motorcycle hit a tree that had fallen across the roadway. The impact caused the motorcycle to flip and go off the right side of the road.
McHale was initially taken by ambulance to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital and later airlifted to Cleveland Clinic Akron General. Despite wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, he died from his injuries at the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
