OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Warren man Sunday afternoon.
Troopers said the crash happened Sept. 28 around 4:17 p.m. at the intersection of Larchmont Avenue and North River Road.
According to the report, a 2021 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Alexander Elonen, 34, of Warren, was traveling south on Larchmont Avenue when it entered the intersection and struck the right side of a 2017 Kia Sorento. The SUV was driven by Julie Lowry, 58, of Warren, who was turning left onto North River Road.
Elonen, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by Howland Township EMS to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Responding agencies included the Howland Township Police Department, EMS, Fire Department, and Underwood’s Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
