One person dead following motorcycle crash in Ohio

OHIO — A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger seriously injured Thursday evening after a collision with an SUV in Sharon Township.

According to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 18 and State Road.

The motorcycle’s operator, 25-year-old Jacob King, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger, a 23-year-old woman whose name has not been released, was transported to Akron General Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a 41-year-old man, was taken to Medina Hospital.

Deputies said the crash remains under investigation, but alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors.
