One person dead following motorcycle crash in Ohio

OHIO — A 34-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Monday morning in a wrong-way crash on State Route 161 in east Columbus.

According to Columbus police, the crash occurred around midnight near Little Turtle Way, close to Blendon Woods Metro Park.

A man riding a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600 was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of SR-161 when he collided with a 2022 Honda Accord heading east.

The motorcyclist, identified as Isaiah Allen, was ejected from his vehicle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus Fire medics at 12:14 a.m.

Two adults in the Honda were transported to a local hospital and were listed in stable condition.

Police have not said what caused the motorcycle to travel in the wrong direction.

The Columbus Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
