OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Wednesday, July 2, at the intersection of US-62 and Franklin Avenue SE in Trumbull County.
According to investigators, the crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. when a 2020 Harley Davidson Fat Boy, operated by 63-year-old Russell Davis of Vienna, was traveling eastbound on US-62.
A 2015 Toyota Scion, driven by 76-year-old Virginia Dickey of North Haledon, New Jersey, was heading south on Franklin Avenue SE when she failed to yield from a stop sign and attempted to cross the intersection, striking Davis.
Davis was transported by Hubbard Fire and EMS to Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Dickey was not injured.
Responding agencies included the Hubbard Township Police Department, Hubbard Fire and EMS, May’s Towing, and Triple M Towing Services. The crash remains under investigation.
