OHIO — A Wayne man was killed early Tuesday morning when his motorcycle crashed along State Route 199, authorities said.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at 12:01 a.m. on July 2 in the 15000 block of State Route 199.
There, they found a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on the east side of the road.
Investigators determined that the motorcycle, operated by William M. Szymanski, 67, of Wayne, had been traveling southbound when it crossed the centerline, left the roadway, and went into a ditch.
The motorcycle overturned several times before coming to a stop.
Szymanski was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Pemberville-Freedom Fire and EMS assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
