NORTH CAROLINA — A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Yadkin County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 8:28 p.m. on Martin’s Mill Road near Friendship Circle Road in East Bend.
Investigators said Daniel Eli Howard, 57, of East Bend, was traveling north on a 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he ran off the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle struck a ditch and then collided with a small tree.
Authorities said Howard was ejected from the motorcycle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was closed for nearly seven hours as crews worked the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
