NORTH CAROLINA — A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday morning in a collision on Hendersonville Road (U.S. 25), according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 10:59 a.m. near Watson Road. Sgt. H.M. Onderdonk said troopers responded to the scene where a black Honda motorcycle, driven by Ryan Emery Neill, 25, of Asheville, collided with a silver Volkswagen driven by Katelin Michelle Poole, 21, of Fletcher.
Investigators said Neill was traveling north on U.S. 25 when Poole exited the Planet Fitness parking lot to also head north. The vehicles collided in the left lane of the highway.
Neill suffered critical injuries and was taken to Mission Hospital, where he died shortly after. His next of kin has been notified.
