
NORTH CAROLINA — A man was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday morning on Highway 52, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.
The crash occurred near Exits 103 and 105, where a 2020 Harley-Davidson was traveling southbound on the highway.
Police said the motorcyclist, identified as Carl Andrew Norton, veered off the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a guardrail. Norton was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The left lanes of Highway 52 in both directions were temporarily closed as authorities investigated the incident and detours were put in place. The roadway has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation by Winston-Salem police.
