One person dead following motorcycle crash in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — A 30-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash early Sunday in Letcher County, according to police.

The crash happened at 1:16 a.m. on KY-1148. When officers arrived, they found the body of Johnathan Stewart, of Thornton, near an off-road dirt bike.

Investigators said Stewart lost control of the motorcycle due to slippery road conditions. They also confirmed he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
