One person dead following motorcycle crash in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — A Russell Springs man was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash on KY 379, according to Kentucky State Police (KSP).

Troopers said the crash happened at 8:44 p.m. on Aug. 29. The preliminary investigation found that William Miller, 55, of Russell Springs, was stopped in the roadway on a 2004 Honda Shadow motorcycle when he was struck from behind by a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Daniel Turner, 33, of Magnolia.

Police said limited visibility of the motorcycle contributed to the collision.

Miller was transported to Russell County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the Russell County Coroner. Turner was not injured.

KSP said they were assisted at the scene by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Fire Department, Russell County EMS, and the Russell County Coroner’s Office. The crash remains under investigation by Senior Trooper Brandon Roark.
