INDIANA — One person died early Saturday morning after a collision between a motorcycle and a dirt bike, authorities reported.
The crash occurred around midnight on County Road 16, with both vehicles traveling westbound. According to reports, the motorcycle ran off the north side of the roadway, slid, and struck a mailbox.
The motorcyclist was thrown into the roadway and struck by the dirt bike. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dirt bike driver was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with complaints of overall pain. Authorities did not release the names of those involved. The crash remains under investigation.
