ILLINOIS — A 26-year-old man from Woodridge was killed Thursday night following a motorcycle crash involving an SUV at a busy Naperville intersection.
Naperville police and fire officials responded to the scene at Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard around 9:35 p.m.
Upon arrival, first responders found that a Suzuki motorcycle had collided with a VinFast SUV.
The motorcyclist, identified as Dante Fields, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.
According to a preliminary investigation, Fields was traveling eastbound on Chicago Avenue at a high rate of speed and entered the intersection with a green light.
The SUV, which was heading west on Maple Street, was turning left onto southbound Naper Boulevard when the motorcycle struck its passenger side.
No citations have been issued at this time. The Naperville Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
