ILLINOIS — A 43-year-old man died following a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning in Effingham, authorities said.
According to Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes, the crash occurred at 12:43 a.m. when the motorcyclist, identified as Justin Kresin of Effingham, was leaving southbound I-57 and traveling up the ramp to Keller Drive. Kresin lost control of his motorcycle on the ramp and crashed.
A truck driver discovered Kresin at the scene and called 911. He was transported to HSHS St. Anthony’s Hospital but was pronounced dead at 5 a.m., Rhodes said.
No autopsy was performed, but samples were collected for toxicology testing, with results expected in about three weeks. The Illinois State Police are investigating the crash alongside the coroner’s office.
