FLORIDA — A 27-year-old motorcyclist from Tampa died Tuesday night after being struck by an SUV at an intersection in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Valencia College Lane and Short Pine Lane.
Investigators said the driver of a GMC Acadia was traveling west on Valencia College Lane and attempted to make a left turn onto Short Pine Lane when the vehicle collided with the eastbound motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the SUV, a 38-year-old woman from Orlando, was not injured and remained at the scene following the crash.
FHP said the incident remains under investigation.
